Staircases take a beating, and sometimes a fresh runner can transform the whole feel of a home. Elizabeth, one of our members, recently took on this exact upgrade—removing an old carpet runner and installing a new sisal one, and the results were stunning and budget-friendly.
Instead of hiring a professional (a job easily costing $2,200 or more), Elizabeth turned to the Cville Tool Library for the tools they needed:

Armed with the right equipment, she tore out the worn carpet and replaced it with a crisp, natural sisal runner. And along the way, she discovered something important:
